Some things recently...

I went Thrifting with a friend the other day. Nothing says awesome like spending 6 bucks and getting more than 5 items. Yeah. I got some material to make a new apron with, a skirt to transform into an apron for a friend, a "new" cord jacket, a cute pin, a picture for a co-worker's new apartment and a cool Engrish toy.

Here are some pictures of recent things, including some from the residual Tropical depressions Gustav and Ike. I didn't think after I left Miami, Florida for more inland digs that storms would still find me here. Way to go, Arkansas. You officially suck the most.

new stuff

I tried to make some mint mojito cupcakes. They turned out well. The icing didn't really as I didn't whip the cream properly. They were well likes and tasted good, so that's what matters. Yeah?

New Soda

So, they finally got these new Jones soda flavors at the local store. I love the Cherry soda. i'm not so keen on the Blue Bubble Gum. That was way too sweet for me.

I've been finding lately that things I enjoyed when I was younger, much sweeter things, no longer seem so appealing to me. Oh well. Things change I guess.

Go try the Cherry Soda. It's delicious.

cake for friend's 21st birthday (same friend as casket cake :) )



1 year anniversary at work.


I figured I'd jump on this bandwagon, since I've been baking for fun over two years now. Cakes and cupcakes mostly, I am looking to getting a lot better. Hopefully, that is apparent in the progressive images here.

I'll try to post pictures and ingredients as often as possible. I try to bake something interesting once a week at least, as time permits from my 9-5 and part time job doing PR for a video game website (www.Deeko.com, check us out.)

chocolate cupcakes, with a pattern from a magazine. Figured I'd try some other stuff with melting chocolate to see how it'd work out. It all melted in the car on a hot 104 degree day on the way to the meeting. :/
